Tsingua University

IMETU, the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsingua University, was founded in September 1980 with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China.  IMETU is located on the beautiful campus of Tsingua University. The total floor space of IMETU’s building is about 10,000 square meters. Supported by government, IMETU is the main member of Northern Microelectronics Research and Development Centre of China.  Its research focuses on micro-nano electronics IC processing and equipment and R&D of IC design. It has the most complete IC development and processing line compared to other universities in mainland China.

Since 1988, the research and education at IMETU has been recognized as the only institution for the key academic subject of “Microelectronic and Solid-State Electronics” in China – this  was the first programme of its sort awarded by the State Council.  In January 2001 it was re- evaluated as one of the national key academic subject institutions by the Ministry of Education.  IMETU is the institution for educating high-quality scientists and engineers in the field of microelectronics.  Since IMETU was established in 1980, more than 1000 undergraduates and more than 300 postgraduates have been awarded; it has trained more than 1200 professionals in microelectronics at various levels, from VLSI and ULSI design, test and fabrication techniques, to cutting edge research.

IMETU has advanced facilities from VLSI design to fabrication, such as VLSI & ULSI CAD packages, 0.35μm CMOS  techniques, a set of 5-inch sub-micro CMOS process facilities, 960m2 clean room etc.  IMETU will provide advanced facilities for seconded researchers to conduct their research on VLSI chip design and testing.
